After polling classmates whose e-mails I have re what meal choice, so far, it's been almost unanimous to go with the Buffet.  There are quite a few choices there.  The cost will be $35 per attendee for the meal and $10 per attendee for the rental of the space.  You can check out the winery at http://www.kingestate.com/.  If you drive west from Cottage Grove's Main Street out Lorane Rd to Lorane (about 10 miles), you should be able to see the King Estate Winery to the right on Territorial Highway.  There should be plenty of parking available.


There is a great area outside for dining.

Dick and his wife Sarah live in an over-50 community in Plainfield, IL.  While still working as an attorney in Dallas, TX, Dick suffered a serious stroke at the age of 57.  He is doing OK now, but has difficulty talking.  Dick's mom, Eva, is now 100 years old and still lives in Lake Oswego.  While it is very difficult for Thwings to travel, Dick and Sarah did come to Lake Oswego for a visit with Dick's mom last Christmas.

Dick has a son Chris and a grandson Noah, both of whom live in the Lake Oswego, Oregon area.

2013

There will be a "folding party" to fold the invitations to the Reunion on April 2 at 1:00 p.m. at a private residence in Cottage Grove.  If you don't know the address, e-mail me at rockewarren@comcast.net.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dennis Chapman at 11:30 a.m.

Dennis asked the thirty-three attendees to introduce themselves.

Dennis presented the budget and discussed the expenses that will be upcoming.  There will be no change in price of tickets for the reunion of 2013.

A discussion was held on the amount to donate for the scholarship awarded by Old Schoolmates.  Mae Westfall Cook moved to donate $1000 for the award.  Mike Chapman seconded the motion and the scholarship award will be $1000.  Mae Westfall Cook will present the award to the winning student on May 29, 2013 at the high school.  Discussion about who should receive the award followed and it was decided that, if possible, the student should plan a major in Educatioon.

Dennis reported that Class of 1943 will need a represnetative since Betty Deere is no longer able to represent the class.  Marsha Allen reported, through Dennis, to take everyone off the class of 1941 list.

The next meeting will be March 19, 2013, 11:30 a.m. at Stacy's in Cottage Grove.

There will be an Old Schoolmates Committeed Meeting on Tuesday, April 9, at Stacy's in Cottage Grove at 11:30 a.m.  We will be stuffing envelopes then as well.

We are sad to report that Carole McCracken Dysart passed away on March 12, 2013.  Her husband, Joe, was with her at the time.

According to her husband Joe, Carole McCracken Dysart is in very bad condition. Her skin cancer returned and has spread (metastasized) throughout her body.  Carole is in hospice care.
