He was born Aug. 27, 1940, in Bellingham, Wash., to John and Gertrude Dickinson Gay. He married Kay McCoy on June 8, 1962, in Cottage Grove. He graduated from Cottage Grove High School. He served in the Navy for three years, from February 1959 to February 1963. He was as a millworker and worked as a steel fabricator and an aircraft assembler. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert of Elmira; a daughter, Kay Goad of Lancaster, Ore.; a sister, Dorothy Herbert of Tacoma; and two grandchildren. |
