Hinds, Dennis

Dennis Hinds died May 25, 2012 of kidney failure at Southtowne Living Center in Eugene, Oregon. He was born to Arch and Dorothy Hinds on March 14, 1940 in Oakland, California. The family moved to Cottage Grove in 1950 where Dennis lived most of his life.  In the late sixties while traveling and working in Germany he met and married Gaby Franz and they returned to Oregon with their infant daughter Katja. He was an excellent auto mechanic.  Dennis loved good food, conversation, music of all kinds, old British comedies, fly fishing on clear trout streams, archery hunting at Hart Mountain and objects that were well made and unique. Most of all he loved being with his many friends and enjoying a good laugh at the peculiarities of the world.  He was, without a doubt, "his own man". His daughter Katja and brother Rod Hinds survive him.
