Alan Michael Carter, 65, died August 13, 2005, from natural causes in Portland.
He was both December 6, 1939, in Cottage Grove. He attended school in Cottage Grove and later was a member of the Army National Guard. He relocated to the Portland area in 1972 and lived there until his death.
He is survived by his nephews, Tom, Scott, Patrick Kelly and Matt Carter; and nieces, Shannon Friedman, Sheila Carter and Kim St. Vincent.
Carter's family planned a private family gathering in his honor. Wilhelme Funeral Home in Portland was in charge of arrangements.
