Bob Fitzgerald, an original cataloger in the Library's Catalog Department from the 1960s until his retirement in 1995, died on Friday, Jan 26, 2001, of a rare form of leukemia.

Larsana Nelson, his wife (and also a retired NU original cataloger), stated that he did not want a funeral or memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, she suggested that Bob was very fond of animals and would have liked contributions to be sent to an animal rescue such as:

The Greater Chicago Ferret Association (GCFA)
PO Box 7093
Westchester, IL  60154

Joan Crawford says that there is an on-line donation form for them at:

http://www.gefa.com/donation_form.html

Joan noted that Bob was a longtime member of the GCFA and loved ferrets.  "He went to all the GCFA shows and enjoyed being with other ferret owners.  He will be greatly missed by me and many others."
